Traffic loss leaves interfaces up. Block one direction to model a silent unidirectional fault, or both to drop all frames. These temporary settings are not saved in exports.

Demo workspace

Topology and lab controls stay locked. Control allows input only on prepared devices. All visitors see the same console output; device accounts restrict available commands.

Take over console input?

Shut down Junos before stopping

Junos nodes:

Stopping a running Junos VM can corrupt its filesystem and prevent it from booting again.

In each Junos console, save with commit, return to operational mode, then run request system power-off and wait for shutdown to finish. Cancel to return to the consoles.

Continue only after guest shutdown. Weblab does not run these commands or verify shutdown for you.

CONFIRM DELETION

Clipboard preferences

Copy selections from terminal text and Instructions. Right-click paste applies only inside terminals; the topology is excluded. Shift+right-click opens the browser menu. Keyboard copy/paste and touch menus keep their normal behavior. Pasting respects input locks. Preferences stay in this browser; workspace clipboard text stays only in this page's memory.

Export lab

Topology JSON includes devices, cables, PC network settings and any original startup snippets.

JSON + saved configs reads saved Cisco configurations from NVRAM/IOSv disks and FRR/LL2S configuration files as first-boot snippets for a new lab. Stop the devices first. No console access is needed. Unsaved changes are excluded; this does not save device configurations.

JSON + live configs includes unsaved changes by reading current running configurations. Start every Cisco device, leave its console at the privileged (#) prompt and release input locks. Capture locks each console, temporarily suppresses console logging when enabled, and restores the original settings before export. It does not save to NVRAM. Use this option when saved-config retrieval is unavailable.

Saved lab ZIP also includes IOL NVRAM and IOSv, EXOS, Arista and Junos disk changes, plus saved FRR/LL2S configuration. Save device configurations (for example, write memory), then stop the lab before exporting.

ZIP backups need the same device images on import. Images, licenses and temporary PC files are excluded. Limit: 8 GiB.

Reference transcript only, including text attachments; screenshot/PDF filenames only. Imports do not restore Agent history. May contain secrets typed in chat or shown by devices; review before sharing.

Console output is recorded on the server, including while browser tabs are closed. Up to 8 MiB of recent output per device is retained, starting with the next device launch after this update. Logs may contain configuration details; review before sharing. Logs are for reading and are not restored into devices.

Requires all nodes stopped. JSON does not preserve complete device state; choose ZIP to resume this lab later. You will confirm reset after saving the download.

Backup downloaded?

Check that your download has finished and is saved before resetting.

This clears the topology and all saved node storage and logs, including retained files from removed nodes (not included in exports). Images, authentication, Agent history and published instructions are kept.

Restore saved lab?

This replaces the current topology and saved device state with the selected backup. Export the current lab first if you want to keep it.

All devices will remain stopped. The required device images must already be installed and match the backup.

DEVICE LIBRARY

Upload a device image

Choose an IOL .bin or supported .qcow2 file, up to 1 GiB.
Arista vEOS also requires Aboot-veos-serial-8.0.2.iso. Preserve vendor filenames for EXOS and vEOS.

Images are saved for future labs. Existing files are never replaced.

Storage

Allocated space includes saved disks, logs and other node files. Base-image symlinks are excluded. Retained directories belong to nodes outside the current topology; nothing is deleted automatically.

Low: under 2 GiB or 10% free. Critical: under 256 MiB. Guest disks can keep growing while running. Shut down Junos from its console before stopping it.
